  • These super-stretchy silicone lids will fit any container, no matter the shape — square or round — or over almost any food item. Family-sized dish of lasagna? The stretch edges form an airtight seal to keep your food fresher for longer.
  • Top tip: make sure the container and silicone lid are both dry when applying the lid so the edges grip the sides of the container.
  • Made from food-grade silicone, these lids are a breeze to clean and durable enough to last for years of regular use.
How to Use

Choose a silicone lid that is similar in size to the bowl, plate, or fruit/vege that you are wanting to cover. Place it on the bowl rim nearest to you and stretch the silicone cover forward. Thumb the bowl's far edge over the rim. If it is too big or too small then try the next size up or down.

Please make sure the bowl and lid are dry and free from condensation. They will not work if the lid and the receiving object are wet in any way.

Measurements & Shape

Sizes are 24cm and 30cm in diameter. Each pack has two lids of each size. Choose from boxed or naked packaging.

Materials

Made from food-grade silicone (BPA free).

Packaging
  • Boxed: our regular plastic-free packaging where your lids arrive in a kraft cardboard box with information about the product.
  • Naked: our lower waste packaging option where your lids are wrapped in paper and sealed with a sticker. There is less ink and paper used with this option and it has a lower shipping volume through the supply chain.
Cleaning, Care & End of Life

Wash the silicone stretch lids with soap and water or in the dishwasher. The stretch lids are reusable as long as the lids are still stretching and free from wear and tear. To prolong the life of your silicone stretch lids, keep them dry and clean and avoid exposure to extreme heat.

End of life silicone facilities are not currently available in New Zealand. Please check in your local area. You are welcome to send any food grade silicone products back to us as there is currently a silicone send back pilot program under trial.

Any last questions?

Can I use these in the oven?

Although these lids are great for the microwave and the freezer, please don't use them in your oven or to cover extremely hot containers.

Can I boil the lids?

Please do not boil these reusable food covers. If you want to wash them well, see Cleaning, Care & End of Life above.

Is there anything I can't use them for?

The silicone lids are very versatile and can cover raw meat right through to fresh half-cut fruit. They are perfect for half a lemon! There are no restrictions on the type of foods these lids can cover because they can be sterilised between uses.

Please note that the shape and size of the object you are covering will need to be matched to the size of the lid.

How are they different to Beeswax Wraps?

Each food cover serves a different purpose and they're great for different things. We love Beeswax Wraps for keeping the ends of cheese blocks fresh, half-cut avocados (nothing else keeps them fresh for so long), things the sizes of the silicone lids don't fit, and odd-shaped containers and bowls.

Beeswax wraps cannot cover citrus and onions because it breaks down the beeswax coating on the fabric. Raw meat is also a no because, although they can be washed in cold soapy water, you cannot use high temps on the wraps. The silicone lids pick up the slack in these instances and we love using both products, along with an assortment of lidded containers, side by side in our kitchen.

How much do the lids stretch?

Each lid will stretch, and you want the object you are covering to be slightly larger than the lid itself. You will know the lid is too small for the object if the sides slip up.

How long does delivery take?

Domestic: we aim for 2 business days; allow up to 5 plus extra for rural. International: up to 14 business days. See our Shipping Page for the latest.

Is there a warranty? Can I return them?

Yes — a guarantee against manufacturer defects per the Consumer Guarantees Act; please notify us within 30 days of noticing any defect. Full and partial refunds are offered per the CGA.
